RELIABLE QUALITY

Product certifications, resulting from tests carried out by accredited certification authorities guarantee the quality, safety and reliability of our products.

Some of Sayerlack waterborne coating systems for wood exposed outdoors have been awarded prestigious CATAS QUALITY AWARD, CATAS QUALITY AWARD PLUS, CATAS – WKI PREMIUM and CATAS – WKI PREMIUM PLUS certifications, attesting to their quality in terms of outdoor durability and wood protection. Certifications apply to all coating systems designed to protect wooden item placed outdoors. The test methods and relevant requirements are those laid down by European reference standards (EN 927), to which we’ve added certain assessments based on the experience of two Institutes (CATAS and WKI) and certification schemes recognised and widely accepted in a number of European countries.

Coating systems for exterior wood. The coating systems undergo various tests that include both natural weathering and tests that serve to assess certain inherent properties of the coatings (elasticity, effectiveness against biological attack, application method etc.). The main test is natural weathering and lasts one year, though this can be extended to two years in order to obtain the next level of recognition, the PLUS award.

Coating systems for exterior wood. The coating systems undergo various tests that include, above all, natural weathering, which is carried out at both the CATAS site (Italy) and the WKI-Fraunhofer Institute for Wood Research facility (Germany). Other tests are also carried out that serve to assess certain inherent properties of the coatings (elasticity, effectiveness against biological attack, applicability, etc.).

The main test is natural weathering (carried out simultaneously in Italy and Germany) and lasts one year, though this can be extended to two years in order to obtain the next level of recognition, the PLUS award.

Sayerlack’s primary objective is to produce the best wood coatings employing the most advanced technologies, being aware of hat innovation requires a great deal of effort. We wanted to show that these principles stack up against the strictest standards, so we’ve gone to the best-known laboratories, like Q-LAB and Atlas, where samples are exposed to the rigours of two consecutive summers through the EverSummer programme. With the Extreme and Baltic Project projects, we’ve assessed the behaviour of our laboratory formulations under extreme conditions, facing every challenge thrown up by the climate or adverse agents.
