GPA Camolei

A complete service center for the woodworking industry

"Beyond colour and always by your side"
providing bespoke advice and high-quality products to transform every customer need into a creative solution.

GPA Camolei is a leading company in the professional paints and coatings sector in Northern Italy. Its origins date back to 1974, when Paolo Pallaro and Esterina Bottero founded GPA Colori in Loreggia, near Padua. Established as a specialist colour retailer, the company has continuously evolved over the years, steadily expanding its expertise, services, and product portfolio.

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, GPA strengthened its position alongside craftsmen and industry professionals, culminating in its move to a new 2,000 m² headquarters in Loreggia in 2000. Growth continued with the opening of the Limena branch in 2014 and a generational transition in 2021, when Nicola Pallaro and Veronica Carraro took over the leadership of the company. In 2022, a new 3,000 m² facility was inaugurated in Piombino Dese, designed as a modern hub to deliver increasingly advanced services.

A strategic milestone was reached in 2023 when GPA joined the Camolei Group, a historic company from the Treviso area that has been operating since 1955 in the building, automotive, and woodworking coatings sectors. This merger led to the creation of GPA Camolei, combining experience, innovation, and a strong customer-focused approach.

Entering the woodworking market

To expand its offering and seize the opportunities of a growing sector, GPA Camolei decided to develop a dedicated division for wood coatings and woodworking applications. To support this new venture, the company sought a reliable partner with strong market recognition, capable of providing technical expertise, innovation, and a comprehensive portfolio of solutions.

The choice naturally fell on Sayerlack, Italy’s leading wood coatings brand, renowned for its product quality, extensive range, and ability to meet the needs of joiners, craftsmen, and furniture manufacturers.

The partnership with Sayerlack

The introduction of Sayerlack into GPA Camolei’s offering was supported by a significant investment in expertise and services. The company established a dedicated structure, including specialised professionals such as an external technical manager, an internal technician, and a tinting manager.

This organization enabled GPA Camolei to develop a true service center for woodworking professionals, offering technical consultancy, customised coating systems, and qualified support throughout every stage of the production process.

The partnership with Sayerlack has become a key differentiator. Ongoing support from regional technical specialists, dedicated contacts for coating system development, and the ability to create tailor-made solutions allow GPA Camolei to support customers with expertise, responsiveness, and reliability.

Today, the company offers the complete Sayerlack portfolio, including waterborne and solvent-based coatings, primers, topcoats, stains, and specialist products for a wide range of woodworking applications.

Entering the woodworking sector also represented an important organisational and technological evolution. To ensure high quality standards and perfect colour reproducibility, GPA Camolei invested significantly in enhancing its tinting department.

The Piombino Dese facility was equipped with a latest-generation Corob tinting machine and new spectrophotometers specifically designed for wood applications. At the same time, the tinting manager completed advanced training to further improve formulation accuracy.

Today, every colour produced undergoes rigorous quality controls. Each kilogram of tinted product is subject to application testing and instrumental verification using a spectrophotometer. This process ensures outstanding colour accuracy, consistency, and repeatability over time, even for samples requested months or years later.

This approach has delivered tangible benefits not only to the woodworking division but to the entire business, further reinforcing the quality of service provided to customers.

"Our partnership with Sayerlack has enabled us to build a true service center for woodworking professionals, but our greatest achievement is the team we have created. Our Sayerlack business manager, tinting manager, and technical manager have made the difference. Thanks to their expertise and dedication, we can now guarantee a level of precision and reliability that was previously impossible. Every colour leaving our laboratory is tested and verified: this is our standard, and we are proud of it."
