Product Certifications
Certified Quality. Verified Performance.
Product certifications provide independent confirmation of quality, safety and performance. They ensure compliance with recognised standards and offer professionals reliable benchmarks for consistent results across all applications.
Quality you can trust
Certified water-based coating systems for exterior wood
Our product certifications are the result of extensive testing carried out by independent certifying authorities, providing a reliable guarantee of quality, safety and long-lasting performance.
A selection of Sayerlack water-based coating systems developed for exterior wood applications has been awarded the CATAS Quality Award, CATAS Quality Award Plus, CATAS – WKI Premium and CATAS – WKI Premium Plus certifications. These prestigious recognitions confirm the excellent durability and protection of our solutions when wood is exposed to outdoor environmental conditions.
These certifications apply to complete coating systems specifically designed to ensure long-term protection of exterior wooden elements. Testing methods and performance requirements are based on the European reference standard EN 927, complemented by additional evaluations reflecting the expertise of two leading institutes, CATAS and WKI, as well as by internationally recognised certification schemes widely accepted across several European countries.
This approach ensures dependable, high-performance coating solutions that meet the most demanding requirements for exterior wood applications and support professionals in delivering lasting quality over time.
Catas Quality Award
Sayerlack coating systems certified with the CATAS Quality Award, meeting recognised standards for performance and product quality.
View certified coating systemsCATAS QUALITY AWARD AND CATAS QUALITY AWARD PLUS
Coating systems for exterior wood applications. The coating systems undergo a series of specific tests, including both weathering resistance tests and assessments designed to evaluate selected intrinsic properties of the coatings, such as elasticity, resistance to biological attack, application method and overall performance.
The core assessment focuses on weathering resistance and is conducted over a one-year period. This testing phase may be extended to two years to achieve the next level of recognition, resulting in certification with the PLUS designation.
CATAS – WKI PREMIUM AND CATAS – WKI PREMIUM PLUS
Coating systems for exterior wood applications. The coating systems undergo a comprehensive testing programme, primarily focused on weathering resistance. These tests are carried out at CATAS facilities in Italy and at the Fraunhofer WKI – Wilhelm Klauditz Institute for Wood Research in Germany.
Additional tests are also performed to evaluate selected intrinsic properties of the coatings, including elasticity, resistance to biological attack, ease of application and overall performance.
Fire protection for wooden surfaces
Fire-retardant wood coatings
In a fire, slowing down flame spread is essential to help save human lives. Fire-retardant coatings are designed to delay fire progression while, when applied to wood, combining effective fire protection with an excellent aesthetic result.
This balance between safety and visual quality is a core objective pursued by the technicians of the Sayerlack research laboratories from the design phase.
